Good morning, and happy Mother's Day!

Exciting news - Mister Butcher headquarters is open for business starting this week! As many of you know we have been running the business out of our Yonge street location since November, but are finally dipping our toe into the retail market. We have a store at 3359 Yonge Street (a few blocks north of Lawrence, near Bobette & Belle), and we are open for business as of Tuesday.

If you are in the neighbourhood pop in to say hi.

We are still a full service delivery business, so nothing changes for you. But now you have an option to chat with us in person, order for delivery or pick up orders at your convenience, or stock up on some of our grab & go products. We will have a selection of popular fresh and frozen products available for sale. (...and if anyone has a good lead on a nice butcher block to put in our front window please let us know)

We are going to have our Grand Opening on Saturday May 14th. We would love to see you!!

May Long Weekend: the first summer long weekend is approaching. We can get you loaded up with food for the weekend and the summer!

We know some of you like to stock your cottage for the season, and we can definitely help with that. Reach out about cottage country deliveries - we will start those up when there is demand. We are also happy to pack your orders directly into your coolers (just get them to us ahead of time), and we can drop them off to you, or have ready to pick up at the store when you head out of town.

Logistics: We will be delivering Wednesday through Friday this week, and will be in Collingwood on Friday. Please place orders by Tuesday at 6pm, and let us know if have any delivery date requests.

We have a few product updates for you:

A new twist on baseball steaks, we are offering 6oz Tajima wagyu baseball steaks. Frozen, available in 2 or 4 steaks. Elevate your steak game, try something new!

Love our Oceanwise Selva shrimp? We added Selva Shrimp Kabobs. 5 shrimp per skewer, frozen, 10 skewers per order.

New packaging option on our souvlaki. We know many of you have asked for smaller packages of our souvlaki. You can now order 15 kabobs, vac packed in 5s. And if you haven't tried our tzatziki please give it a try. It's so tasty, and it's made from greek yogurt so the bonus is it's pretty healthy!

Last week was the close of the Salt Spring Island mussel season. These mussels are now spawning so not available for a couple of months. We are subbing in an excellent an PEI mussel in the meantime.

Mister Butcher Shop Update

Last summer we ordered a ton of custom BBQ scrapers for a marketing campaign, and the promo was a bit of a bust🤷‍♂️. So yesterday we made this great wall in our shop! We should be open within the next week.

Product updates

We have added two new seafood options to our shop:

Fresh Arctic Char Filets Not familiar with arctic char? Read on... This (very) coldwater fish has a rich, flavourful taste and a pink colour that is related to trout and salmon. Rich in omega-3, with a fat content similar to sockeye salmon. It has a deicate skin that crisps up beautifully. We are offering individual fresh portions, skin on, 8-10oz per piece.

Halibut Portions - Frozen We now have individually portioned halibut filets (3-5oz each). A great way to get a new fish into your menu planning. Our halibut is from the Canadian east coast, and we are offering in 2 pound boxes, which contain 6-8 individually wrapped portions.

Referral Program

Thanks to so many of you who tell your friends and family about our business. We've rebooted our referral program (and are using a new online program to manage it). Same deal as before - your friends will get $20 off their first order and you will receive a $20 credit when they place an order over $100. You will receive a link with your code to share a few days after you place an order. If you aren't ordering, but want to get a code to share please let us know!

We have built Mister Butcher almost entirely on word-of-mouth and really appreciate each and every one of you who has helped 😊

Have you tried our chicken supreme? If you follow us on instagram you will have seen a few different ways to prepare chicken supreme. This skin on, boneless, chicken breast has the wing bone on it. Also known as fancy chicken, wedding chicken, or first class chicken 😉

One of our favourite grill-boss / chefs cooked up some of our supremes this week. If you need some inspiration here is Steph from @fosterfeasts' creation with fresh tomatoes, herbs, white wine & melted bocconcini.

Product updates: Lamb is the latest product to be affected by supply chain issues. We are seeing shortages across multiple suppliers, but we are working hard to secure product for you. We will let you know as soon as possible if we have any problems filling your order.

It's a Christmas Miracle - Mister Butcher now accepts credit cards! We know many of you have been asking for this, now you can pay online with credit cards, apple pay, shopify pay or debit.

E-transfers and cash at delivery are options and don't cost us anything :-) so you can choose which method works best for you. If your order contains items that are catch weight you will be billed a second time for those items.

Holiday Delivery Schedule:

We will be delivering Dec 20-23rd (Mon/Tues/Wed), with a few deliveries the morning of the 24th.

You may have heard in the news that there are turkey shortages this month (as well as potential shortages at the LCBO - not the best news for the holidays!!) We are working with our suppliers to fill all orders - the most readily available sizes are12-15 pounds (fresh), 16-18 pounds (frozen), and 25 pounds (frozen). If a Mister Butcher turkey is on your menu please order as soon as possible.

You can place Christmas orders anytime, just make a note that it's for the holidays. We need all Christmas orders by Dec 19th.

New in the Shop:

We've added a few more Mister Butcher boxes to the shop, and made some tweaks to the current ones based on your feedback. So happy to hear how many of your are enjoying them!

Coconut Shrimp - finger food at it's finest, great for appetizers. ~35 shrimp per order, easy to prepare in the oven or an air fryer. 

Chicken Drumsticks - we've been delivering to some of our customers and decided to add so everyone can enjoy. Fresh drumsticks, packed in one pound packages.

Grilling Gift Box - looking for something for the BBQ fan on your list? This gift includes a $150 gift card, a "happiness is....grilling" -shirt, and a maple BBQ scraper.

We have curated 5 Mister Butcher Boxes to make your shopping easier. We have a steak box, a chicken box, an "everything you need for a week" box, a light & healthy box, and an "easy dinner" box. A couple of them have desserts included. Hope you like them.

Product Updates:

Great news - Saku Tuna is back in stock! One of our most popular items, perfect for poke bowls, sushi and searing, is finally back in stock. These blocks of tuna are frozen at sea, which means you have the freshest possible seafood.

Our Miss Friday's Battered Haddock is now available in smaller portions.

16-20 Selva Shrimp has new packaging (for the next little while). Each order is two 375g packages of easy peel, OceanWise shrimp.

Dry Aged Tomahawks are very popular. We've added a fresh wet-aged Tomahawk to the lineup (at a lower price point).

Fresh Tenderloin Tips will now be packed in one pound packages.

The Holidays are coming...
